Anthony's Song This song is inspired by and dedicated to Anthony Capozzi and his family. Anthony, a Buffalo NY native was wrongly convicted in 1987 for two rapes he did not commit and spent twenty two years in the New York State Penal System. DNA tests in March 2007 indicated that another man who recently confessed two three murders and sentenced to life in prison actually committed the 1985 attacks, known as the Delaware park rapes. Biological evidence was collected from two victims in 1985 and stored in a hospital drawer. When the evidence was tested in 2007 at the request of Buffalo Police Detective Dennis Delano, the samples of both victims matched the profile of the man now in state custody-which proved Capozzi could not have been the rapist. Capozzi was exonerated and released from state custody in April 2007. We would like to thank the Capozzi family for embracing and supporting Anthony's Song. We hope the Song shares with others, some of the heartache and pain the Capozzi family endured, during Anthony's wrongful conviction and incarceration.
